Western society has seen ‘a move from a society where belief in God is unchallenged and, indeed, unproblematic, to one in which it is understood to be one option among others, and frequently not the easiest to embrace.’ (Charles Taylor) This secular age is often better at making disciples for its causes than many churches are for Christ. Cultural forces shape many people’s lives away from a need for God, and those same forces can misshape Christians as well. But the key to mission is distinctive discipleship.

In this study day the morning session ‘What’s shaping you?’ will address the question of culture and discipleship, and the afternoon session ‘Outclassing the world’ will address witness and mission.
