Teaching the Scriptures in the Power of The Spirit

Teaching the scriptures in the power of the spirit.jpg

Arrive - 9.45am
Depart - 4.30pm

Word and Spirit go inseparably together. Those who teach the Bible need the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon their lives and their ministry just as much, if not even more, than any other role in the church. This is not a general study day on preparing and delivering talks and sermons, but focuses on the role of the Holy Spirit in the teaching ministry. How do we partner the Holy Spirit as we prepare our teaching - understanding, interpreting and apply the Scriptures – and as we deliver the teaching we have prepared.  It is for anyone who has to preach or teach from the Bible, whether in a small group, from the pulpit or in any other opportunity.

Graham Cray is an Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of York.  Before retirement he was the Archbishops’ Missioner leading the Fresh Expressions Team, previously Bishop of Maidstone, Principal of Ridley Hall Theological College and Vicar of St Michael le Belfrey church in York.
