A roaring fire in the hearth, a decorated tree, festive fare shared amongst family and friends – many of these cosy Christmas traditions are associated with the Victorians in general and with Charles Dickens in particular. With his well-beloved novella A Christmas Carol having been written just down the road in Malton, Wydale’s special winter event this year celebrates Dickens.
Come in suitable Victorian attire for afternoon tea, then enjoy a sumptuous banquet with a dramatic reading of A Christmas Carol. Stay overnight and have a leisurely breakfast – we promise there won’t be a bowl of gruel in sight!
