Paintings have been part of Christian prayer and devotion since the early Christians met in the catacombs or in the villas of wealthy members. Icons are central in the spirituality and worship of Middle Eastern and Orthodox Christians, they have a rich symbolism and can be aids to prayer. In this day we will explore the history, symbolism and spirituality of Icons and how they are created. There will be some led meditations and times of silence for private prayer and reflection and to enjoy the surroundings of Wydale Hall.
