Tuesday 16 November 2021
Arrival: 10.00am
Depart: 4.00pm

We all have default settings when it comes to how we think about the church: or rather assumptions about the church which come instantly to mind without our having to think about them. But what if our default settings are no longer appropriate? What if they are rooted in a time and culture which no longer exists? What if they are stuck in an earlier attempt to be up-to-date which has passed its sell- by date? What if they are so shaped by one tradition that we cannot see the riches in other traditions? What have we learned from the thousands of fresh expressions of church which have been established in the past 20 years? What have we learned about the church from when our church buildings were closed? This study day will attempt to identify the appropriate default settings for the church for our day and culture.
