Dealing with Burnout

  • Wydale Hall Wydale Lane Scarborough, England, YO13 9DF United Kingdom (map)

Thursday 6th November 2025
Arrival: 9.30am
Departure: 4.00pm

‘Burnout’ is defined by the World Health Organisation as “a syndrome concepualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterised by three dimensions: feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one’s job; and reduced professional efficacy”. We might like to think that Chrustians are immune to workplace stress, however the reality is that these things can affect any of us, working in the Church and outside of it. This day will offer an opportunity to explore the issues around this in a safe and holy space.

Led by: Ven Amanda Bloor, Archdeacon of Cleveland

Cost: £30.00 including lunch and refreshments
