Holy Week at Wydale

Why not help yourself to focus on Easter this year by visiting Wydale during Holy Week?  There are two very different 'events' you might like to come along to:

Prayer Walk
10am to 5pm Tuesday 15th to Sunday 20th April
In the Greenhouse

This year’s Holy Week Walk will be held in the beautiful Victorian greenhouse in the heart of the Wydale estate, and is an exploration of a line of the Nicene Creed:

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures...

Not only does this line anchor the events of Holy Week in history, but it also refers to how the events were themselves anchored in God’s plan, with echoes throughout of the prophesies and stories of the Old Testament.

We have created a collection of specially created artwork images which are designed to offer the opportunity to meditate on the links between the familiar stories of the Passion, the wider Scriptural context and our lives today.

In creating this exhibition, we have taken time to ponder the scriptures and to allow them to inspire the images. Our invitation is for you to share in this experience, and to prayerfully consider the past, present and future with our faithful and unchanging God.  

We hope that you can join us anytime you are able Tuesday to Sunday of Holy Week 10am to 3pm.  Refreshments will be available in the hall for you before or after you do the prayer walk.

Come and enjoy a few hours in the grounds of Wydale!  Bring your family, your frineds, your small group from church, your neighbours, or just yourself!

There will be Easter Crafts, regular Easter Egg Hunts, an Easter Trail and an opprtunity to hear afresh the Easter story.  On top of this there wll be a cafe running all day with drinks and cakes.  Bring your lunch and make a day of it?

Doors open at 10am and last entry will be at 3pm.
