Multiply.jpg

Arrive - 10.30am
Depart - 3.30 pm

This workshop is an introduction to beginning a New Worshipping Community (NWC) for anyone that is interested, lay or ordained.

We will be sharing the ‘Multiply’; vision for NWCs reaching 20s, 30s and 40s across the Diocese of York. We will also be exploring how to discover a vision for a NWC in your parish and how to begin building a team.

There will be plenty of opportunity for group work, practical tips on getting started and bespoke advice tailored to your particular church context.

This day will also be a chance get to know people with similar hopes, challenges and concerns in emerging NWCs, and a way of beginning to form a network of support in reaching 20s, 30s and 40s in the Diocese.

Richard works for the Diocese of York as Director of Making and Nurturing Disciples. He leads the Diocese of York’s strategies to reach those in their 20s, 30s and 40s and people who are in poverty. He was previously at Liverpool Cathedral where he pioneered three new congregations and established the Joshua Centre which is working to launch thirty new worshipping communities.

John leads the Diocese of York’s team of full-time Multiply leaders. Before taking up this post John spent 28 years in parish ministry, most recently as Rector of St Paul’s in York. He’s loved helping to discern and encourage leaders in the local church and in various diocesan roles. John is married to Nicola and they have three grown up children.

Ben is Multiply Associate Team Leader. Ben’s role in Multiply is focused on empowering lay people to lead ‘new worshipping communities’. Ben is also a Senior Leader at G2 York, an innovative, creative and missional fresh expression of church particularly reaching younger adults.

Led by: Ben Walker, Rev John Lee & Rev Richard White

Cost: This day is free of charge and refreshments including a packed lunch are provided - donations are welcome but not required.
