CARM Prayer & Painting Retreat

CARM.jpg

Arrive - 3pm on Monday 17 February
Depart - 10am on Friday 21 February

We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Creativity Arts Retreats Movement (CARM) with this painting retreat. Space to reflect, pray and worship and time to be creative. Each day there will be silence, worship together, a meditation from the chaplain and plenty of time to paint. Help and encouragement is given to everyone, beginner or experienced painter alike. No previous painting experience is necessary and all that is needed is a willingness to be open and to explore how our creativity can be a vehicle through which God can speak to us.

Martin has worked for many years as a freelance book illustrator and artist using a wide variety of media. He has also taught illustration and drawing at two different art colleges and has been a tutor with CARM since 2000. He welcomes retreatants of all abilities (including those who feel they have none!) and aims to assist each take further steps of progress along their individual creative journey with a mix of instruction, enthusiasm, and encouragement. Martin has lived in Norfolk since 2003 where he delights in the sight of wide skies, secret reedy places, and the unparalleled multiplicity of medieval church towers.

Margaret hails from Scotland; she studied both art and theology and is a retired Church of Scotland minister. She has been involved in CARM retreats for some time, and enjoys the marrying of worship and creativity, with the sharing that happens in a group.
